College of Language, Culture, and Arts
Instructions for editing this page:
The only special instruction you should need to edit this page is how to add a new "Track" to a major (ie: how to create a list-item that is indented and has an open circle for a bullet). Unfortunately, this will require you to edit the code directly, but don't worry, it's easy!
- Type in the track name in the appropriate spot.
- Click the "Disable rich-text" link below the editing window.
- Use the "Find" feature (Ctrl+F) to jump to the name of the track in the code.
- In front of the name of the track, find the <li> tag.
- Inside the <li> tag, type: class="track". The tag should look like this: <li class="track">
- Click "Save." That's it!

Diverse Ideas and Endless Possibilities
The four departments and two centers of the College of Language, Culture, and Arts (CLCA) share a common thread: each prepares students by drawing on the established methodologies of humanistic training, whether this takes the form of historical, linguistic, or cultural inquiry, or from active participation in the visual and performing arts. The college also offers study in several world languages from the Pacific, Asia, and Europe. Selected language minors and program minors are also available. The spiritual environment of BYU-Hawaii, coupled with training in the liberal arts, uniquely prepares students to enter the highly competitive markets of today's global economy—students emerge who are capable of serving others in church, community, or professional settings. We invite each of you to investigate the wealth of offerings within CLCA, whether it be as a major within one of the five departments, or as a student from an outside discipline, hoping to broaden your perspective on the world at large.
